IPTV on iOS & Windows
Your subscription works on a phone, tablet or laptop as well as a television. These are best treated as second screens rather than your main setup — but for testing a new line, watching in another room or checking a fixture away from home, they're the quickest option you have.
Second screens, not main screens
A phone or laptop will play your channels perfectly well, but neither is a comfortable way to watch a full evening. Nothing here replaces a Firestick or box on the television — what these platforms are genuinely good for is more specific than that.
Testing a new line
The fastest way to confirm credentials work before touching the television. If it plays on your phone, the subscription is fine and any problem is device-side.
A second room
A tablet in the kitchen while the match is on in the sitting room. On a 2-device plan both can run at once; on a 1-device plan you'd close one first.
Away from home
Catching a fixture on a phone elsewhere. Works over Wi-Fi or mobile data, though mobile data uses a substantial amount on HD.

iPhone, iPad & Apple TV

- Install it and open it once, accepting any permission prompt
- Choose Login with Xtream Codes API rather than the playlist option
- Enter the server URL, username and password exactly as sent, including
http://and any port - Set the time zone to Europe / Dublin in the app's settings
Windows PC & laptop
WINDOWS 10 & 11- Download a desktop IPTV player from the developer's own website — not a download-aggregator site
- Run the installer and open the app
- Choose the Xtream Codes login option
- Enter your server URL, username and password as sent
- Set the time zone to Europe / Dublin so the guide is accurate
Use a laptop to prove where the fault is
When something isn't working, the hardest question is whether the problem is your subscription, your device or your connection. A PC answers it in two minutes, because VLC — the free media player almost everyone already has — will play an M3U playlist directly.
Test your line in VLC
Ask us for your M3U link if you only have Xtream Codes credentials — it's the same subscription in a different format, and we'll send it in a minute.
- Open VLC on a Windows PC or Mac
- Go to Media › Open Network Stream
- Paste your M3U URL and press Play
- VLC loads the channel list and starts playing

If something isn't right
Can't find a player in the App Store
Listings change and vary by region. Search for "IPTV player" rather than a specific product name, and pick anything offering Xtream Codes login — that feature matters far more than the app's name.
Playback stops when the screen locks
Normal iOS behaviour rather than a fault. Most players have a keep screen awake setting; enable it. Audio-only background playback depends on the app and isn't always supported.
Using a lot of mobile data
HD streaming uses roughly 3 to 4 GB per hour, and 4K considerably more. On mobile data, switch to an SD or HD version of the channel rather than the highest quality available.
Works on the phone, not on the TV
That's a useful result — it proves the subscription is fine. The issue is the television device, its app or its network. Start with a wired connection or a restart on that device.
iOS & Windows questions
Only on a 2-device plan, which allows two simultaneous streams. On a 1-device plan you can install the app on both but must close one before the other will play. There is no limit on how many devices you install on.
Any player that offers Xtream Codes login will work with your credentials. App Store listings change regularly, so rather than looking for a specific name, search for an IPTV player and check it supports Xtream Codes before installing.
Roughly 3 to 4 GB per hour for HD, and considerably more for 4K. On mobile data it is worth selecting an SD or HD version of a channel rather than the highest quality, unless you have a genuinely unlimited plan.
It will play your channels, but there is no programme guide, no categories and no favourites — everything arrives as one long list. VLC is genuinely useful for testing whether a line works, and poor as an everyday player.
Yes. Desktop IPTV players exist for macOS, and VLC works for testing exactly as it does on Windows. The setup is the same — choose Xtream Codes login and enter your server URL, username and password.
If you already own one, yes — it is a proper living-room device and handles 4K well where a suitable player is available. If you are buying something specifically for IPTV, a Firestick 4K costs considerably less and has wider app support.
