IPTV setup guides for every device
Whatever you already own — a Firestick, a Samsung or LG television, an Android box, a MAG, an iPhone or a Windows PC — there's a full walkthrough here. Most take under ten minutes, and none of them require you to buy anything extra.
Pick what you're watching on
Guides are grouped by device family. If you're not sure which applies, start with the hardware you already have plugged into the television — that's almost always the right answer.
Amazon Firestick
The most common device in Irish homes. Covers the hidden Developer Options menu on Fire OS 8, installing Downloader, and getting the programme guide to line up with Irish time.
Android TV Box
Nvidia Shield, Mi Box, Chromecast with Google TV and generic boxes. Installing from Google Play where available, and sideloading where it isn't.
MAG Box
MAG 250, 254, 322, 420 and later. These use a portal URL rather than a username and password, and we need your MAC address before it will connect.
Samsung & LG Smart TV
Tizen and webOS, no extra hardware needed. Which players are available in each store, and what to do when your model is too old to install anything new.
iPhone, iPad & Windows
App Store players for iOS and Apple TV, plus desktop options for Windows. Useful as a second screen or for testing your line before setting up the television.
IBO Player
Common on smart televisions that can't run TiviMate. Activation uses the device MAC address and a key, which works differently to a normal login.
Xtream Codes explained
What the server URL, username and password actually do, how Xtream Codes differs from a plain M3U link, and why one loads the guide automatically while the other doesn't.
EPG & programme guide
Getting the seven-day guide to appear and stay accurate. Includes the time-zone setting that causes almost every "my guide is an hour out" report.
TiviMate configuration
Channel groups, guide layout, favourites and recording. Worth reading once your line is working — it's the difference between a functional setup and a comfortable one.
Which app should you use?
Your subscription works with any standard IPTV player — the app is separate from the service. These are the four we see most often, and what each is genuinely best at.
| Player | Runs on | Best for | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| TiviMate | Firestick, Android TV | Best day-to-day experience | Cleanest guide and channel management. Free version suits most people; premium adds recording. |
| IPTV Smarters Pro | Almost everything | Getting started quickly | One-screen Xtream Codes login. The easiest first setup, and available on more devices than anything else. |
| Smarters Player Lite | Older Firesticks, smart TVs | Slower hardware | Lighter on memory. Choose this when a device stutters running the full Smarters app. |
| IBO Player | Samsung, LG smart TVs | TVs that can't run the others | Activates by MAC address and key rather than a login. Send us the MAC and we'll load your line. |
What your line needs to do
Setup problems are usually setup problems. Picture problems are usually bandwidth. Knowing which you're dealing with saves a lot of time, so check these figures first.
| Watching | Speed needed | Per extra device | Connection |
|---|---|---|---|
| SD channels | 5 Mbps | +5 Mbps | Wi-Fi fine |
| HD channels | 10 Mbps | +10 Mbps | Wi-Fi fine |
| 4K / UHD | 25 Mbps | +25 Mbps | 5 GHz or wired |
| 4K on two TVs | 50 Mbps | — | Wired strongly advised |
Setup questions
No. If you own a Firestick, a smart television made in the last few years, an Android box, a phone or a PC, you already have everything needed. There is no box to buy and no engineer visit.
An Nvidia Shield or Fire TV Stick 4K Max handles high-bitrate 4K most comfortably. Smart television apps are convenient but usually have less processing headroom, so they can stutter where a dedicated box does not.
Yes. You can install your credentials on as many devices as you like. What the plan limits is simultaneous streams — a 1-device plan allows one at a time, a 2-device plan allows two.
Between five and twelve minutes depending on the device. Smart televisions and phones are quickest. A Firestick takes longest because the player has to be installed before your details can be entered.
Message us on WhatsApp describing what you see on screen. Setup support is included with every subscription and with free trials, so you are not on your own with it.
Yes. Trial credentials are issued in exactly the same format as paid ones, so every guide applies identically. If you later subscribe, the same login continues working and nothing needs setting up again.

What we supply. IPTV Ireland provides subscription access and playlist credentials. Player applications such as TiviMate, IPTV Smarters Pro and IBO Player are third-party software made by other companies — these guides show you how to configure them, and our support covers anything server-side. Device names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
